The Sun newspaper is highlighting something very important for all women – the simple, yet fear inducing ‘smear test’. Quoting them initially, with a link to their article:
“THE Only Way Is Essex fans have praised Courtney Green for filming her smear test for the ITVBe reality show.
The 24-year-old star spoke candidly about going for her first cervical screening throughout tonight’s episode before having the camera’s join her in the doctor’s surgery.
Chloe Meadows joined the brunette beauty for moral support, offering her pal her hand to squeeze as she admitted that she was nervous.
Laying on the bed with a sheet over her lower half, the nurse told Courtney to put her legs up as she explained what was going to happen.
She said: “The reason we are doing it, we are looking for abnormalities in the cells in the cervix.
“It takes longer to set it up, than it does to do it, so please don’t worry.”
Holding up the speculum, she continued: “This is the speculum, it feels a little cold and it will be a little uncomfortable but tell me if you find it too uncomfortable.
“Try and relax.”
Courtney looked nervous as the procedure was filmed, but was surprised when it was quickly over.
She told Chloe: “It really wasn’t that bad, I can’t believe I have done it.”
